Blessing Bags Brigade was founded by Gregg and Sharon Monbleau, driven by a desire the Lord placed on their hearts to offer comfort, hope, and love to the homeless.
Starting in the fall of 2015, they assembled and distributed hygiene bags with C4's Urban Outreach in Detroit's Cass Corridor. Their initial efforts, though small, laid the foundation for a growing mission.
Over time, the Monbleaus recognized a significant need for a dedicated hygiene ministry and expanded their efforts. They forged partnerships with multiple organizations across the Metro Detroit Area, ensuring that hygiene bags reached those in need. In addition, their collaboration with The Wave Project led to the creation of 24-hour accessible pantries stocked with free hygiene products.
As Blessing Bags Brigade continued to address physical needs, they also sought to support emotional well-being. Their ministry evolved to include “Essential Bags,” which encompass not only Hygiene Bags but Comfort Bags for children who are homeless or in foster care, and Activity Bags for homebound seniors. These Essential Bags are thoughtfully designed to support both the physical and emotional health of their recipients.
Committed to making a positive impact, Blessing Bags Brigade remains dedicated to providing Essential Bags and uplifting the lives of those they serve.
